Best Facebook Resources
Here are a list of a few of the best resources in Facebook Marketing:
1) InsideFacebook - Founded by Justin Smith Inside Facebook is very relevant to individuals with a more hands on interest in Facebook marketing. It’s the best, most comprehensive news outlet out there for Facebook and a must in any RSS feed for any marketer or application developer. Check out AppData and PageData as well as the related InsideSocialGames, which are all part of the umbrella network.
2) AllFacebook - The recently acquired AllFacebook founded by Nick O’Neill is more of a layman’s guide to Facebook news and events and has a more of an entertainment feel than InsideFacebook. Where InsideFacebook provides technical and demographic data AllFacebook provides a Top Ten lists and satirical ‘How-to’ manuals.
3) http://www.techcrunch.com/tag/facebook/feed/ - If you don’t have the time or the inclination to read through InsideFacebook or AllFacebook (avg. 4 posts per day each) this specially targeted Techcrunch RSS feed will keep you up to date with relevant Facebook information (avg. 1 tagged ‘Facebook’ post per day).
4) Facebook Forums - If you’re interested in seeing the ‘real’ world behind Facebook the Developer Forums have it all. Advertising, programming, sales information; there’s something for everyone in the forums. The forums to have gotten a lot quieter since the 2007 Facebook Application gold rush.
5) Your news Feed - 50% of the marketing news I get from Facebook comes from my homepage stream. When a friend joins a group, fans a Page or invites me to an event it gives you a first hand look at what it takes to run a successful viral campaign on Facebook. There is no substitute to first hand experience.
